Bathtubs? It that the life sweet did not seem. I am not surprised, but it and for me remains a riddle: why Russian people behave as barbarians. At us domes of churches cover with gold, but around all in a dirt.
Dear Helen, with both types of bicycles, it is not easy to ride 1200 km :-) But I am sure that with a usual road bike, on the terrible country roads, I would have got neck problems. With the couch I had no physical problems - no neck problem - no pain in the wrist - no sit complaints! On long distances, a recumbent is really much more comfortable than a road bike!
Dear Helen, you were right. Cycling in russia is dangerous. During the bike marathon, in Yaroslavl I was struck by a car. I crashed and shaved the left side of my ass. At the couch the handlebar and the left brake lever was bent. The driver stopped only briefly, looked at me and then drove on! Luckely I could finish the bike marathon :-)
The numerous international command tensely observes and endures Manfred's adventures in Russia. :-)) Fortunately, your reportings allow to be convinced that you are live and healthy! Successes and the big satisfaction from a marathon! Are you went to Vologda on a couch?
From Moscow to Yaroslavl I took the train. From Yaroslavl to Vologda I went on the couch. Thanks dear Olga for the good wishes. Your wishes worked! I finished the bicycle marathon well. Now I am in Moscow and I am still alive.
Munter bleiben...
